BSA, Raton Troop 91

Raton’s Boy Scout troop is very active in the outdoors, and the Raton community in general.

Recent and ongoing Troop 91 activities include:

  • Hiking
  • Camping
  • Backpacking
  • Kayaking
  • Fishing
  • Volunteering at community events
  • Fundraising for Troop outings
  • Preparing for a 2018 Philmont expedition

The Scoutmaster, Jared Chatterly, is a Philmont Staff Alumni with many years of scouting experience, has a college degree in Parks and Recreation, and is the Recreation Director for the City of Raton.

The troop mascot is a stuffed animal, Shep the Sheep. Shep has a locally-popular Facebook page where many people follow his adventures.
